Atmosphere
Going to the cinema is about so much more than watching a film. At Light House we try to create an environment of comfort and sophistication that transcends the multiplex. From our fully licensed cafe bar where a fine selection of beer and wine is available, to our comfortable couch seats, Light House makes for an enjoyable evening out.
Our cinemas are close to town but far enough away to escape the city grind. Light House also has nearby free car parking.
Getting Here
Light House Cinema Petone is located at 52 Beach Street in historic Petone. You can reach us via the Esplanade or Jackson Street. Please be aware that Jackson Street is currently under construction and it may be easier to get to us from the Esplanade. Click here for a map of our location.
Buses from Wellington and the Hutt Valley travel along Jackson Street and the Petone railway station is situated at the western end.
Parking
There is a free public car park conveniently located on the opposite side of Beach Street from the Light House.

Cinema Expansion
Light House Cinema Petone has expanded! Construction has completed on the historic Bank of New Zealand building on the corner of Jackson Street and Beach Street. The building now houses the cinema's 4th auditorium seating 100 people. The two buildings are linked together by a luxurious lounge area for the comfort of our patrons. Stop by for a visit and see the new addition!
