Dunkirk (M)

Miraculous evacuation of Allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain and France, who were cut off and surrounded by the German army from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk, France, between May 27- June 04, 1940, during Battle of France in World War II.

In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.

Acclaimed auteur Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar) directs this World War II thriller, starring Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance, with Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, James D'Arcy, Barry Keoghan, and Cillian Murphy. With longtime Nolan collaborator Hans Zimmer providing the score.
