Dani and Christian are a young American couple with a relationship on the brink of falling apart. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, a grieving Dani invites herself to join Christian and his friends on a trip to a once-in-a-lifetime midsummer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in a land of eternal sunlight takes a sinister turn when the insular villagers invite their guests to partake in festivities that render the pastoral paradise increasingly unnerving and viscerally disturbing. From the visionary mind of Ari Aster comes a dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.

★★★★★  - Daily Telegraph
“It dazzles you with dread.”

★★★★★  - London Evening Standard
“[Midsommar's] the feel-mad movie of the decade.”

★★★★★ – Empire Magazine
Midsommar is the horror movie to beat in 2019. Caution: contains distressing amounts of folk music”

★★★★ – Rolling Stone
“Another groundbreaker in horror from Hereditary's Ari Aster who mixes a modern breakup story with pagan rituals in Sweden. If you're looking for the scariest movie ever shot in blinding sunlight, the raw and riveting Midsommar is it.”

★★★★ – Stuff

Midsommar is nonetheless proof of the emotional and visceral power of a well-made horror movie.”

★★★★ – NZ Herald
Midsommar is a slow burn, a ruminating and sinister film that ratchets tension with a vice-like grip”

★★★★ – Flicks
“Enhanced by some pointedly weird and gorgeous production design, Midsommar's meandering descent into crazy town makes for a deftly disturbing viewing experience"
