After the extraordinary success of Caravaggio: The Soul and the Blood which brought over 230,000 spectators to cinemas all over the world:

For the first time, a documentary delves into the spiritual dimension of Caravaggio, set against the backdrop of the Jubilee in Rome. Inspired by the major exhibition Caravaggio 2025 at Palazzo Barberini in Rome, the film reveals an artist caught between light and shadow, sin and salvation—a master reimagined through faith and art.

Caravaggio emerges at the dawn of the Holy Year 1600, when he presented The Calling and The Martyrdom of Saint Matthew —two works that would change art history and seal his destiny. From that point on, Caravaggio confronted the sacred directly, turning painting into a raw exploration of faith, guilt, mercy, and redemption. He died while returning to Rome, seeking forgiveness that never arrived.

The film offers an intimate portrait of a fragile, universal artist whose power to move, disturb, and console speaks urgently to our time—especially on the eve of the 2025 Jubilee. Featuring contributions from leading art historians, museum directors, artists, and experts in sacred art and spirituality.
